On September 19, 2011, the West Warwick School Committee unanimously voted to adopt a standards based report card reported on a trimester basis for K-4th grade students. Administrators, educational leaders, and educators have been working since May of 2011 to move the district in a thoughtful, purposeful way to a standards based reporting system. The work displayed below is our best thinking to this point. We are committed to speaking with the various members of the educational community along the way. The district has engaged each Parent Teacher Organization in informational meetings thus far. We plan on holding web based conversations (webinars) over the next few weeks to provide additional information for parents.

The district will also hold additional focus group meetings with parents, educators and students to gauge the effectiveness of the new reporting system. Our ultimate goal is to provide parents and guardians the most comprehensive information about their student's performance. We look forward to discussing this further with all of the members of our community.
